Desert Archetype

sand dunes in a hot desert

The archetypal desert is a place of solitude to contemplate philosophical and spiritual questions of life and death.

A journey into the desert can begin in wandering, exile, or spiritual seeking. Its unforgiving emptiness is disorienting and depleting, bringing despair and alienation. But through the trials and initiation of the desert, the seeker is purified and redeemed, and their hidden sources of strength are revealed.

How do you experience the desert archetype? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below
