Valley Archetype

lush green valley with mountains in the distance

A valley represents a balance of opposing forces, a point of convergence between the high peaks of the mountains and the lower hollows through which water flows. Valleys are usually places of abundance and fertility, but when deserted can symbolize loneliness with the looming shadows of mountainous fears.

Stories often end in the familiar landscape of a valley that many call home. It is the destination of gentle rest, moderation, and harmony needed after a long journey.

How do you experience the valley archetype? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below
